Coleslaw Salad Aldona's Kitchen

Ingredients

  • 4 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded purple cabbage (optional, for color)
  • 1 cup shredded carrots

Dressing

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1-2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)
  • 2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the cabbage and carrots.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss until well coated.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving (it tastes better chilled).

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1–2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Thinly sliced red onion or green onion
